Known officially as "The Irregular at Magic High School", is a Japanese
light novel series written by Satou Tsutomu (佐島勤), with illustrations by
Ishida Kana (石田可奈), published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko label. The novel began as a web novel serialization in "Let's Become a Novelist" on October 12, 2008. It then became the second web novel after "Sword Art Online",
to be commercialized and published by Dengeki in July 2011. An animé
adaptation by Madhouse Studios was announced on October 6, 2013. Plot
"Magic" is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales. It has become a technology of reality for nearly a century. Various countries in the world are locked in a race in nurturing "Magicians".
Shiba Tatsuya is an honor student without magic capability at First High School, a magic high school along with his sister who happens to be the top student among the freshmen. What will happen to him, and how will he live his school life where he is one of the many reserves in the school looked down upon by the chosen magical students?

He is a member of the Public Morals Committee and he becomes a student council member in his second year.
Only known to the Yotsuba family, he is the Guardian of Miyuki, a candidate for the next head of the Yotsubas. Guardians serve for life unless dismissed by their principal. It is said that bodyguards protect to eat, while Guardians eat to protect.
Shiba Tatsuya is a First Year Student in Course 2 of the First High School. He is the eldest son of Four Leaves Technology (FLT) company's vice president. His only sibling is Shiba Miyuki. Since he was born in April and Miyuki born in March, they are studying in the same year according to Japanese school system. He is known as a Weed, which is considered the lower class.

Shiba Miyuki is a First Year Student in Course 1 of the First High School. She is the sister of Shiba Tatsuya and born in March. She is a bloom,
one of the upper class students proficient in magic. She is currently
the freshmen representitive, and is well known throughout the school.
She is the secretary of the student council in the beginning, before becoming the vice president.
